'It's hard to decide whether we have been doing what we do for a long time or not. Sometimes it really does feel like we have been working with lyrics our whole lives. And we more or less have, actually. Now, for this event we have put together a mix of new and old lyrics and verse - poems, slams and raps - and called on the help of some extremely talented friends.' This is how the evening's main performers describe the show.

Márton Simon (b. 1984) poet, slammer, translator. Márton has been publishing poems since 2004 and has been a regular performer at slam poetry events since 2011. Poetry: Dalok a magasföldszintről (Songs from the Upper Ground Floor, 2010), Polaroidok (Polaroids, 2013), Rókák esküvője (The Foxes' Wedding, 2018). Péter Závada (b. 1982) poet, dramatist, musician. Péter was a member of the rap and slam poetry group Akkezdet Phiai for more than 20 years. He has been publishing poetry since 2009. His most recent volume, Roncs szélárnyékban (A Wreck in the Shade of the Wind), was published by Jelenkor Kiadó. These professional/biographical facts do not tell you, however, that we are talking about two of the best-known and most popular poets from the generation born in the 1980s, with followers and sales in the tens of thousands. They are bona fide stars who have played a vital role in making the reading of poetry trendy again amongst young people. They assure us that they have a decidedly decent evening lined up. Full of bravery and strength. Everything else will be revealed on the night. We have no reason to doubt their words.
