Since their formation in 2016, Slow Village - who feature three MCs and two DJs and perform old-school yet never anachronistic hip-hip - have reached the point where they can perform as a headliner in any club in Hungary and also make the night-time slots at summer festivals. In addition to two full-length albums and several EPs, their prizewinning music videos have generated hundreds of thousands of views. At Müpa Budapest, the group will be bringing a show created especially for the evening that will serve simultaneously as a summation and light reinterpretation of everything they have created so far.

Slow Village's raison d'etre is centred on rap with a capital R: "Neck-busting grooves and characteristic loops, rhymes and scenes from the gut, containing traces of poetry, slam and no little irony. A type of B-boy cheekiness, an educated ghetto mentality with a bit of true flavour for lovers of stronger spices. Drum formulas, patterns, basslines from the bedroom to the big stage.” The quintet pays tribute to some big guns of the genre, including the legendary Detroit group Slum Village - which inspired the group's name - Lootpack and A Tribe Called Quest, though Slow Village's small town romanticism is tailored for the 21st century. Their albums, the 2017 record 201X and the 2020 Úton (On The Road) were both rapturously received by critics and audiences alike. As were their shorter releases, including the 2018 Miezmágenin' (Wha'isthisagain?), the 2022 Lassú Falváról Na'Conxypanba (From Slow village to Na'Conxypan) - a joint album with Takeshi - Sztoritell, (Storytell) also made in 2022, and the most recent release, the 2023 record ";”. Sztoritell's music video songs won several prestigious awards in the Sixth Hungarian Music Video Awards, with the eponymous track named Music Video of the Year. At Müpa Budapest, they will take the stage for a special concert of summation and reinterpretation featuring exciting guest musicians and the coolest performers.
