Glasper's fourth record was a great surprise, and was eagerly received. Reviewers were lost for words, and a renowned critic called Black Radio the album of the year 2012; the conservative Downbeat featured it on its front page, and the New York Times praised it in a long article. Glasper offered a new take on the genre of jazz, and won it a new audience. Many consider him the future of jazz, which he usually dismisses by saying "no, I am here now.”
