Müpa Budapest first launched the Budapest Wagner Days in 2006, and it has been held each June since then - with great success. The first opera of Wagner's to be realised in a brand-new production was Parsifal: the young directing duo of Magdolna Parditka and Alexandra Szemerédy took the concert hall's attributes into account in mounting a fully staged version that highlights the most important elements of the work faithfully to how Wagner imagined them. In addition to presenting the work's content and music, this film based on the thoughts of Adam Fischer, artistic director of the Wagner in Budapest festival, introduces the creators' ideas while also recalling the most important scenes from the production.
