At the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conference series, presenters hold inspiring and entertaining 18-minute lectures that they hope will help make our world a better place. The unique series started out in 1984 as a narrower community initiative, uniquely combining discussions of the three subject areas at a single venue. The lectures, which address a wide range of topics, are aimed not at developing in-depth technical expertise, but rather at motivating viewers. Many illustrious figures have given talks at the events, and more than one global initiative has emerged from the TED stage.
Although the audience is a diverse one, its members share a fundamental openness and sense of social activism. The lectures offer them new ideas and help them see things from new perspectives, thus enriching their professional lives - and often their personal lives as well - with new viewpoints. At the 2017 event series, three events will be available for screening. One of these is the opening conference being held in Vancouver, Canada: The Future You.
On 25 April, at 8 pm, viewers will get the chance to watch the entire first part of the conference, with 6-8 presenters each speaking on a different topic. On 26 April, also at 8 pm, the TED Prize Event will be shown, including the lecture by the winner of the one million dollar award. At 8 pm on 2 May, viewers will get to see a selection of the best TED talks of 2017. The programme of approximately two to two-and-a-half hours in length will be preceded by a 15-20 minute programme introducing TED. Viewers in Budapest will be certain to get to watch tennis star Serena Williams, surgeon and writer Atul Gawande, Gapminder co-founder Anna Rosling Rönnlund , movement artists Jan Boogz and Lil Buck, as well as physician Raj Panjabi.
Müpa Budapest will be hosting the TEDx Danubia regional event series, based on the TED model, on 4 May.

The transmissions have been made possible through the cooperation of our partner, Cikánek Management.

The talks are delivered in English, without subtitles.
