'What is the difference between God and Péter Esterházy? The difference is clear: God is everywhere, whereas Esterházy is everywhere, just not with us.' This is the (slightly modified) one-liner that will be refuted this evening by György Spiró, Pál Závada, László Dés, and András Dés, because Péter is still with us as long as we keep reading and listening to his works. A classic work is not bound by time, which is why Arany, Petőfi, Ady and many more are still with us. However, we blessed by having known him as a person: he was our contemporary, our friend. We think of him not just as a writer and a great man, but as a good friend and creative partner. And what better way to prove that he is still here with us than by spending an evening together with you, the audience, and Péter Esterházy. We will read from his works and listen to music. We will analyse both as we used to do with him, back in the day. We believe this evening will be as delightful and memorable for you as it will be for us. (László Dés)
