Does Beethoven require rediscovery? Yes - every time we hear his works. Because he, like all of the very greatest, is inexhaustible. So are his works, the passionate Leonora Overture No. 3 and the two piano concertos: the witty and playful C major and the profoundly philosophical G major. At this concert, the audience will also get the chance to discover two brilliantly talented young soloists.

Playing the first concerto will be Apor Szüts. Born in 1993, the young pianist impressed viewers across the country after making it to the finals of the first season of Virtuózok ("Virtuosos”), Hungarian Television's hugely successful classical music talent search competition. He is a multifaceted musician who describes himself as a pianist, composer and conductor on his website. Born into a family of musicians, starting with his great-grandfather Imre Ungár, the famous interpreter of Chopin, it is no wonder that everyone and everything in his environment inspired him to dedicate his life to music. Playing the Piano Concerto in G major will be a young chinese pianist, Ke Ma. Born in 1994 and trained in the West, she was only five years old when she placed in a Beijing piano competition, and also pursued advanced studies in China, at the Xinghai Conservatory in the southern city of Guangzhou as a student of Zhong Hui and Galina Popova. Later on, Ma also attended master classes held by such artists as Angela Hewitt, Péter Frankl, Yevgeny Sudbin and Imogen Cooper. She has won prizes at numerous international competitions.
Accompanying the artists under the highly experienced baton of Tamás Gál will be the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra. One of the pillars of eastern Hungary's music scene, the ensemble has proved its virtues at Müpa Budapest time and again.
