With her extraordinarily expressive performance style, sometimes provocative lyrics and highly trained voice, Zara McFarlane has grown to become a leading female jazz singer in her native United Kingdom, and is preparing to release her third album this autumn. The second album (If You Knew Her) earned her the title of Best Jazz Act at the MOBO Awards, among other accolades, although her debut record (Until Tomorrow) had already hinted at the acclaim to come. Zara's crystal clear voice has been compared to the early Nina Simone or Roberta Flack, and she has also already become an inspiration for notable DJs. Featuring her own compositions and classic jazz standards alike, her concerts generate a unique, often profound atmosphere.
