The more things change, the more they stay the same with the afternoon talent exchange for the 13th Jazz Showcase! Once again, from 7 to 9 February nine young bands will be on show on two great venues at Müpa Budapest, Banner Square and the Atrium. The most exciting and extraordinary group will be chosen by an international jury of illustrious personalities to win the chance to further display their talents both at Müpa Budapest and beyond.
This event is presented in association with the Hungarian Jazz Federation, the Zemplén Festival and the ELTE Jazz Studies Research Group.
László Marcell Bari, AKA Lacika, may only be 18 years old, but he already has significant experience both as a musician and with the media. He has now completed his final exams and graduated from the jazz and piano department of the Béla Bartók High School of Music. He has been singing and playing the piano ever since he was a small child. From the very beginning, he was inspired by a wide array of musical genres. He largely focuses on fusion jazz, modern jazz, soul, gospel and R'n'B, though he also loves more challenging pop music. He has appeared on several TV shows, including as a competitor in the Ének iskolája (Singing School) and Sztárban sztár + 1 kicsiben (Star in a Star + 1 Little One). Though he has played in and arranged music for a range of different groups, he particularly enjoys performing as part of a trio. On this occasion, he will perform fusion and electronic jazz.
