Although cimbalom player Áron Horváth may only be 19 years of age, the Jazz Showcase was not his first taste of success. A student of Balázs Unger and Miklós Lukács, Áron won the 2016 Fölszállott a Páva TV talent contest in the solo category. He has performed as a guest musician in several of Mihály Dresch's groups since 2021. In 2023, he was admitted to study classical cimbalom at the Liszt Academy, where he is currently a student of András Szalai. The 21-year-old Lőrinc Ágoston Mohácsy was initially influenced by his father - also a double bassist - and learned about jazz from Tibor Csuhaj-Barna, while he has also studied with Ádám Bögöthy. In 2021, he was awarded fourth place in the Solo Instrumentalist category of the 2nd Hungarian National Jazz Music Competition. After one year at the Béla Bartók Conservatory, Lőrinc was admitted to study jazz at the Liszt Academy. Since 2023, he has also been performing as a guest musician alongside his stepfather, Mihály Dresch. Zoltán Fekete, who is 18 years of age, is currently a student at Musikakademie Basel Jazzcampus. At the Showcase, he wowed both audience and jury with his performances in two different groups. Together with Lőrinc's double bass, Zoltán's musical, colourful and extraordinarily energetic drums help create a secure foundation for Áron's virtuoso cimbalom play. With both heart and spirit, their music thoughtfully connects the past, present and future.
