The didgeridoo is a wind instrument played by the Aborigines of of Northern Australia. The digeridoo is made from the naturally hollow trunk of the eucalyptus tree, though because of the way it is played it is still categorised as belonging to the brass wind instrument family. The inside of the instrument is usually conical: in a cross-section view, the place where you blow is smaller than the lower end. Beeswax is often placed on the perimeter of the mouthpiece and helps the player to adjust the instrument to their mouth. The surface of the instrument is often decorated with paintings.
