The poet Ramuz and the composer Stravinsky wrote The Soldier's Tale, using elements from Russian folk stories, with the objective of journeying from city to city with their small travelling company to present their fairy-tale play comprising music, prose and dance. In the story, the soldier has sold his soul to the devil and, in order to free himself, conducts a desperate struggle with the Evil One. A series of exciting and astonishing twists takes us to the end of this bitterly ironic and thriller-like story.
