What happens when, by a remarkable coincidence, six street musicians, all talented performers in their own right, find each other in the hustle and bustle of the big city? They set off on an adventurous journey around the world, of course. Their music and instruments serve as their vehicle, while their inexhaustable supply of fuel is provided by their playfulness, imagination and boundless good humour. Be warned: the last of those is genuinely infectious. The sides of the spectators may well be truly split by Csaba Méhes and the fun-filled group, Brass in the Five.

If you have reserved a space for the Direction Rio! show, written and directed by Csaba Méhes and Tibor Takács, then you have no need for a terribly expensive flight ticket. In their trip around the world, the artists will fly to distant lands on instruments, melodies, wordlessly, through the use of gestures, the language of mime and sparkling humour. Csaba Méhes is an outstanding comic and mime artist, a true master of visual humour who has been captivating his audiences at home and abroad for decades with his distinctive performances. It is impossible to pigeonhole him to a single genre: in his shows, we encounter the biggest little man around. Brass in the Five, formed in 1992, are a virtuoso brass quintet. They performed their first concert to Queen Elizabeth of England, who was visiting Hungary, and chose an English name in her honour. Their partnership with Csaba Méhes goes back decades. After their smash hit The Brass Circus, their second show Destination Rio! has also won an award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
