Generations have grown up with the Cimbora (Buddies) television programme, which aims to provide children with quality learning in a playful setting. The broadcasts, which have been running for decades, encompass many subjects, including the history of the theatre, fine art and literature. For Zoltán Kodály, who started out by earning a bachelor's degree in Hungarian and German, a living relationship with literature was crucial to his later career. His choral works setting the verses of Hungarian poets to music provides is ample of this.
