When crib-bearing carollers go from house to house at Christmas, they ask at the end of their verses of greeting, "Can we come in with this manger?” This nativity play serves as the framework for the Kaláka Ensemble's Christmas concert featuring Christmas folk songs from Hungary and other nations, old church songs, and their own songs written to Christmas verses. Their record of the same title was released in 1987, and every Advent ever since, the Kaláka carollers have gone from house to house, church to church, school to school, and theatre to theatre.
