Ever since 2008, Müpa has regularly organised its gala programme of Hungarian folk music, and 2023 will be no exception, when it presents the diversity of Hungarian musical folk traditions, from dance house music to world music productions. The mini-festival starts with Éva Páll's children's programme before the evening concert - featuring Branka Básits, Sára Tímár, Mihály Borbély Polygon, Magyar Banda, Kanizsa Csillagai and MORDÁI and bookended by Gypsy and Hungarian dance house sessions. In the Fine Craftsmanship programme, together with her band, the singer recalls the old-time crafts for children through folk songs, nursery rhymes, and fairy tales.

Éva Páll and her band have put together a dance programme for the whole family to enjoy, one that is recommended for everyone regardless of age. Fine Craftsmanship is structured in such a way that even the smallest children will get to encounter familiar things, while slightly older ones will gain new knowledge, and the adults will get a good laugh. This story introducing traditional handicrafts begins in the spinning house, where girls and women spin yarn from hemp. The weaver works the hemp into canvas, finished material that the tailor then sews into garments to wear. Next comes the footwear: the shoemaker and cobbler do not make their products on a shoe last, but instead carefully adjust them to the customer's feet. Of course, this is far from the end of this adventure into the realm of master craftsmen and their trades: we will also gain familiarity with the work of potters, blacksmiths and millers, and as long as we have flour, then we can't omit the bakers, who like to sing as they make fresh bread, rolls, buns and cakes at night. Housework is also a serious trade, and homemade cakes are a real delicacy and part of the fun: the party will only end when the treats run out.
