Every year since 2008, Müpa Budapest's gala concert A Celebration of Folk Music has provided a festival of traditional Hungarian folk music and world music that builds on or interacts with the music of the surrounding peoples. In addition to the main show, there are also 'táncház' (dance house) events and a children's concert. The latter will be performed by Éva Korpás and her band, who hail from the lands of Upper Hungary. Éva, who is the former singer of the band Tükrös, will perform live songs from her world and folk music albums for children in an interactive show that recreates the world of ancient village life through folk songs, nursery rhymes and children's games.

Éva Korpás, who comes from the town of Komárno (Révkomárom) in present-day Slovakia, was part of the Young Hearts Dance Ensemble, before becoming the singer of the band Tükrös in 1995 at the age of 14. She has also experimented with testing the boundaries of folk music and classical music with Róbert Lakatos and the band RÉV. In 2007, she recorded her first solo album for children, Csalogató (Tempting). In Éva's solo career, besides traditional folk music, she also engages with world music, jazz and classical music. She has worked with the cimbalom player Kálmán Balogh and the storyteller and singer András Berecz on many occasions, and has also performed as a solo singer in the Ritka Magyar Folkband and Rendhagyó Prímástalálkozó shows. She has released five solo albums for children to date, including a joint album with Andrea Malek. The most recent was the 2018 Libidaridom. In this special show - recommended for absolutely anyone aged 0-99 - the focus is on interaction. It will feature not only the most beautiful melodies of Hungarian folk music of Transylvannia and Upper Hungary, but also nursery rhymes and children's games that recreate the everyday activities and festivals of ancient village life.
