Xaver Varnus has played concerts on the most significant organs in the world, including the ones in Bach's Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Washington National Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, Berlin Cathedral and the chief churches of Paris - Notre-Dame, Saint-Sulpice and Saint-Eustache. He has also played on the largest working instrument in the world: the Wanamaker organ in Philadelphia. In May 2006, he was one of the foursome to inaugurate Müpa Budapest's organ. As an organist, writer and media personality alike, he has done a great deal to popularise organ music.
