Admission to Müpa Budapest's virtual concert hall is free of charge.
At the current time, even though it is safer to travel only through our imagination, as a member of the European Concert Hall Organisation we are giving you the chance to enjoy some concerts as though you were seated in the auditorium of one of the continent's most prestigious performing arts centres. While last year's autumn Rising Stars series for the 2020/2021 concert season at Müpa Budapest was cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic, on our Facebook page you can now encounter six young and ambitious musicians or groups through a live broadcast of their performances from the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg.

After studying at London's Royal College of Music and Musikhochschule Lübeck, Vanessa Porter completed her master's degree at the Stuttgart Music Academy. She has triumphed at numerous international competitions, notably winning first prize at the August Everding International Competition in Munich, the Luxembourg International Percussion Competition and Italy's Percussive Art Contest. A frequent guest at festivals, she has regularly performed in concert across Europe, North America and South America. In addition to taking the stage as a soloist, Vanessa performs at least as often alongside her sister and fellow percussionist, Jessica Porter, as part of their group Duo Porter. At their concerts, the pair enjoy combining percussion sounds with electronic music, improvising on already existing material. Vanessa is a firm believer in introducing unusual elements into her art, performing works that incorporate both the spoken voice and 'body percussion'. She has compiled her Rising Stars programme out of some contemporary works that are full of experimentation.

Her piece Aperghis The Messenger was commissioned by KölnMusik and Festspielhaus Baden-Baden as part of ECHO Rising Stars project, as well as for the the KölnMusik »non bthvn project« 2020 series.
