This concert of the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra scheduled for the beginning of the new year offers true 20th-century music that is nonetheless not avant-garde. The violin concerto that also provides the title of the concert draws from the music of the film The Red Violin. Now the Budapest audience will get to hear John Corigliano's deservedly popular work live, as performed by Finnish violinist Elina Vähälä as the soloist.
