"After all, one can live without music. There is a way even across the desert. But we, who are working that every child should get the key to good music, and with it a talisman against bad music, we don't want them to walk their path of life like those wandering through the desert but like those passing through blooming flower gardens.” This programme featuring many musical genres from Zoltán Kodály's oeuvre compiled in the spirit of the composer's artistic credo brings to the concert stage both musicians of the first rank and young talent new on the scene.
Formed in 1993, the Danubia Orchestra Óbuda remains Hungary's youngest symphonic ensemble to enjoy serious international recognition. Paris-based mezzo-soprano Klára Csordás is an outstanding singer of art songs. With numerous international awards and exquisite recordings to his name, Tamás Érdi is a familiar figure on the concert scene both in Hungary and elsewhere. The appearance by Lajos Lencsés - considered one of Europe's finest oboists (as well as one of its most skilled masters of the oboa d'amore and the English horn) adds another novelty to the evening, as he too has lived abroad for decades.
