Three young musicians embarking on their careers take to the stage at this concert. Growing up in a musical family, Júlia Pusker and Ágnes Pusker performed with Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra back in 2004, since when they have played with an increasing number of orchestras and noted musicians. Conductor Zoltán Bolyky enjoyed his first major professional success at the 2009 National Orchestra Competition, where he took both first place and the special prize for best conductor. His extensive experience serving as permanent conductor of the Szolnok Symphony Orchestra and director of the György Solti Orchestra Hegyvidék, as well as conducting performances in the Virtuosos television talent search programme, led to his being offered the conductor's position at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Music in 2014. At the head of MÁV Symphony Orchestra, an ensemble with a very large following, the young conductor will take us through the works of two great English composers. The Englishman Vaughan Williams collected the melodies worked into his rhapsody in Norfolk. Known for his orchestral masterpiece The Planets, Holst also composed the Double Concerto for Two Violins and Orchestra to be heard with Sarasate's spectacular and virtuoso Navarra performed by the Pusker sisters . To continue the latter's Spanish theme, this programme of popular and accessible pieces continues with the most famous orchestral work by Emmanuel Chabrier, a rhapsody Gustav Mahler described as "the start of modern music”. Living under the spell of the accordion since childhood, the fantastically gifted young Mihály Demeniv revealed his outstanding talent to the Hungarian public as finalist and winner of a special prize in the TV talent-spotting competition Virtuózok in 2014. Here he will perform a passionate concerto by the 20th century reviver of the tango which is at once bravura and lyrical, and which takes its title from the highest peak in the Americas, acknowledging what is regarded as the greatest work by the Argentine composer, who passed away in 1992.
