In English, with a Hungarian interpreter

The American jazz musician Philip Yaeger, who is a resident of both Vienna and New York, and also a member of the 2019 Jazz Showcase international jury, is seeking to take on one of the biggest musical challenges of our times. He wants to prepare young jazz musicians so that their skills and technique can meet the requirements of the changing market.
The Jazz Showcase talent exchange's flagship programme is jointly organised by Müpa Budapest and the Jazz Studies Research Group (Jatakucs). It is preceded by a workshop with some outstanding experts in the field. The jazz critic Kornél Zipernovszky founded the Jazz Studies Research Group in 2015 to help jazz gain acceptance as part of academic life in music studies, the social sciences and humanities. In short, for jazz to become a subject of interdisciplinary research. In 2017, the group laid the foundations needed to establish jazz studies as a discipline in Hungarian academic life, initially in online form in the Americana E-journal, and then in print in a special edition of the Replika music journal.
