What Jenő Lisztes, who took up the cimbalom at the age of four and has since gone on to perform with various bands and orchestras at the world's top concert halls, plays with his own trio, the Jenő Lisztes Cimbalom Project, is essentially improvisational jazz. For his part, the multiple award-winning guitarist Biréli Lagrène, a virtuoso of French Gypsy jazz and perhaps the most worthy heir to the legacy of Django Reinhardt, is one of the greats of django jazz. The two musicians played together for the first time in 2009, at a django festival in Lyon, but this will be our first chance to see them share a stage in Hungary.
