iLAND is a formation that is typical for one that is both old and new, as most of the superb musicians listed in the subtitle may be familiar from the final line-up of East, one of the key bands in the Hungarian progressive rock scene. Their debut LP, A Sziget (‘The Island'), released in 2022, is therefore appropriately top-quality prog rock and, although it forms the backbone of this live show, the concert will also be complemented by well-known songs (such as '56, Desert of Love and Eyes of David Bowie) that East produced over the decades of its existence in its final iteration. An unmissable two-in-one offer.

East is an internationally recognised group from the Hungarian progressive rock scene, and one that lived through two great eras. The three members of the second East line-up from the mid-eighties - singer Tamás Takáts, keyboardist Géza Pálvölgyi and drummer Péter Dorozsmai - later formed a new band by adding two much-employed younger musicians: guitarist Gábor Madarász and bassist Tamás Kontor. Together, they wrote new songs, all of which were released in the autumn of 2022 on their double CD iLAND: A Sziget. The first disc showcases the new compositions, while the second features live versions of the great songs from East's last era - a division that will also be the case for this concert, which will include both all the new material and, in addition to the songs listed above, the first live performances in a long time of such numbers as '56, Ha zászlót bont a félelem (‘When Fear Breaks the Flag'), A szerelem sivataga (‘The Desert of Love') and Elrejtettél a szívedben (‘You Hid Me in Your Heart'), all newly arranged. While the group - new in name, even though most of its members have been playing together for decades - continues in the progressive direction, it also declares itself an open island that awaits pilgrims of progressive music, sailors, and any fans of live music looking for a port to dock in.
As keyboardist/composer Géza Pálvölgyi, the musical head of iLAND, summarises the programme for their concert, "We put together this nearly two-hour show in order to please both anyone who is curious about our new iLAND album and those who enjoy our old songs. The music we are making as iLAND is the continuation of the shared musical journey we set off in with East, retaining its values and landmarks, while adding additional colours with the material from our new CD, which seeks new musical directions.
