The musical world of Félix Lajkó constitutes an independent genre, one that he combines with special sensitivity and flair into the sound of virtually any other musical ensemble with similarly exacting standards. These are all things that the critics have written about him, and for years he has been performing in a wide variety of formations: sometimes taking the stage alone, sometimes in a trio, or with a larger ensemble or even a symphonic orchestra, and he even on occasion gets his listeners' pulses racing with ‘party music'. The Müpa Budapest stage is a special place for him, since it is here above all other venues that he has developed, honed and coloured his musical message over the past decade. Both beginning and continuing at Lajkó's New Year's concert, as we are now accustomed to witnessing, will be a new chapter of the artist's oeuvre, with constant new experimentation aimed at finding the limits of how the violin can be played and experiencing and understanding music in the full sense of the word!
