Why do some people think jazz is a sophisticated genre that is solely the preserve of adults? Jazz is for you! The objective of the Jazz for You! show is to introduce listeners to the unique world of jazz. It's a good idea to understand and feel the main characteristics of jazz as early as possible, as well as the thousands of forms and shapes it is capable of taking, with improvisation, musical dialogues and the musicians responding and competing with each other. Then, a few years down the line, you will be able to select from the enormous array of sounds available with a sure hand. Perpetuum stand ready to make the introduction.

Jazz is considered by many to be a niche genre, so it is fortunate that in Budapest jazz musicians can expect an appreciative audience, open to any approach. Since its birth in North America, jazz has seen countless variations across its more than 100 years of history. However, its rich sound of rhythm and harmony, improvisational style, unique instrumentation and the intimate relationship the performer has with the music have remained. Perpetuum, founded in 2017 and winners of the Pincejárat Music Talent Contest in the summer of 2019, will present all the remarkable facets of jazz music. Early on, the band's members turned to writing their own songs rather than covering jazz standards. Their music has been defined as experimental art-pop. Of course, in addition to their rock, pop, electronic and psychedelic elements, jazz forms the cornerstone of their sound. As they combine progressive jazz and melancholic art-pop, their music draws inspiration from a variety of life situations, familiar emotions, and everyday situations. They released the EP Fade last year before following it up with their new song, Parasomnia.
