Who ever said you can't throw huge parties in the depths of winter? The Eszter-lánc Fairy-Tale Band, led by Eszter Kárász, are preparing a real snowy story collection for the occasion, as they invite us to a dense - but not dark - winter forest filled with dazzling white snow. The landscape hides secrets within, however, which we can only discover if the children themselves help to create the story. Together, the joint will of the music, dolls, instruments and of course the army of spectators is capable of miracles.

Is there any better recommendation for the Eszter-lánc Fairy-Tale Band than the Hungarian author János Lackfi's enthusiastic words? "Melodies, songs, puppets, bubbles, a ukulele, a guitar, a double bass, a flute, drums, the darbuka and bandmates all combine to create a whirlwind of music. Eszter Kárász plays, dances, sings, gesticulates and makes magic as amusing, sweet and at times melancholy songs ring out. Quite the cocktail, with double bubbles, but alcohol-free.” Eszter Kárász, who in addition to vocals also plays the ukulele, has been touring Hungary for more than a decade with her ever cheerful group, performing interactive fairy-tale concerts. The singer is accompanied by István Bata on guitar, Pál Szirmai on percussion, Gábor Becze on the double bass, and Csongor Veér on violin. Not to mention the children, who here have a central role to play in the shared performance. Every instrument represents an individual character in the story, whose fate and adventures are freely formed by the choices, decisions and ideas of the children. Of course, in addition to all the fun, there is also time for a little learning too. Part of the Eszter-lánc Fairy-Tale Band's mission is to help the youngest generation become familiar with the verses of contemporary Hungarian poets set to music. And if the kids also get involved in playing music together, perhaps this unique occasion will also see the recruitment of some brand new band members!
