"I'll be a gardener, plant trees, I'll rise with the morning sun." It's a safe bet that after watching this performance from the Éva Tamás Games Library, many small children will make a vow similar to those classic lines of the Hungarian poet Attila József. Plant a tree! - easy to say, seems such hard work in reality. Fortunately, though, that's just an illusion. Using small steps that can be applied away from the stage too, this interactive children's concert teaches our little ones what they can do to help our planet stay healthy for a long time to come.

The founders of the musical group Éva Tamás Games Library, which came to life in the city of Pécs in 2007 and whose shows have spread joy all over Hungary, believe in teaching the language of music in a playful format. The title Plant a Tree! faithfully draws attention to those living things that surround us and without whom a happier world would be impossible. This is literally true, as planting trees brings a whole range of benefits, from cleaner air and a positive effect on our mental health to regulation of temperature in residential areas. The show also discusses the changing of the seasons and the anticipation of the new wonders of nature. The musical and spoken sections of the show help children understand the concept of climate change and also provide them with effective ideas on how to help prevent it. For children and parents alike, Éva Tamás and her five-person band on violin, guitar and bass guitar seek to paint a positive picture of the future, something we ourselves can help to create with our own modest contributions. In the creative activity following the performance, all the participants will draw and colour trees and flowers together. After, just one task remains: it's off to the garden!
