The evocation of Electra's tragedy is based on the drama of Euripides and the opera of Richard Strauss, and as in the great predecessors, the struggle is between reconciliation, revenge, and insanity induced by a tormented conscience.
Like every classic tale, the history of Electra, Orestes, Clytemnestra, and the others poses questions that concern us all - though this time no one will appear, feel, and behave as they did in previous versions of the myth.
The première was an event of the CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival.
