After three and a half years of technical grounding in modern and contemporary dance, the academy's graduating class has spent most of the last year and a half of their studies with guest artists and at workshops both at home and abroad. This special examination performance is a reflection of their experiences. This is not their moment of arrival into the ‘real world' - since they are already there - as they are perpetually seeking a path. The structure of the performance has been and still is being continuously assembled, and will remain ‘fluid' even six to eight weeks before the examination as the students continuously participate in the creative activity of workshops both at home and abroad. In this way, the students are not rehearsing dances but trying out working methods, using the wide variety of creative and performance techniques that characterise the theatre of contemporary movement and dance today. To mention an incomplete list, they have worked or continue to work - or have tested out their experiences in various periodic projects - in the studios of Pál Frenák, Yvette Bozsik, Éva Duda, Adrienn Hód, Krisztián Gergye, Kristóf Várnagy, Attila Kun, Lóránd Zachár, Gábor Halász and János Feledi at home, and - among others - with Anne van den Broek, Palle Granhøj and Radoslav Piovarči abroad.
All the intricacies of this work will be on show at the examination performance. What is certain is that it promises to be an energetic, colourful and diverse evening, as the students sometimes will expand or reflect on ideas, or colour them with accounts of their experiences and projected clips. In addition to the outcomes of their experiences, the students will also present some of their independent creations, since the creation of choreography today is typically a process built on personality: dancers are at once creators, who are continually able to build something from themselves and from the interactions with their partners. And if necessary, they can even spin a story around all this.
