The Pannon Philharmonic is celebrating the season when nature returns to life with Igor Stravinsky's work for massive orchestral forces The Rite of Spring. Preceding the ballet as the "overture” for the concert will be a quite early, experimental Haydn symphony, followed by Bartók's Viola Concerto, with the superb French violist Antoine Tamestit serving as the soloist. Unfinished at the time of Bartók's death, the composition has been reconstructed by several people; the version being played on this evening will be the one published by Péter Bartók.
