Alexander Gavrylyuk is considered one of the most amazingly virtuosic pianists on the international scene today, with praise being heaped on his simultaneously electrifying and poetic performance style. He gave his first public concert at the age of nine before going on to place in numerous international competitions. Ever since then, he has performed as a soloist with the world's leading orchestras and as a recurring guest in its most important concert halls.

The renowned orchestras and artists he has appeared with include the New York, Los Angeles, Israel and Rotterdam philharmonics and conductors Herbert Blomstedt, Valery Gergiev, Neeme Järvi, Vladimir Jurowski and Osmo Vänskä. He is a regular guests at numerous festivals, such as Kissinger Sommer and Rotterdam's Gergiev Festival. In 2009, he recorded Prokofiev's complete piano concertos under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy. He has also released other albums featuring works by Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Scriabin, Mussorgsky and Prokofiev. A critic from Gramophone declared that his most recent album, of compositions by Brahms and Liszt, 'should be in every serious collector's library.' The 2019/20 season is taking him to such important destinations as Wigmore Hall, Muziekgebouw Frits Philips Eindhoven, the Lille Piano(s) Festival, as well as on a tour of Australia. Gavrylyuk is an official Steinway Artist. This, his first solo recital in Budapest, will feature a programme split between classic and virtuoso pieces.
