Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi was one of the central figures of Hungarian music in the 1980s and 1990s, writing himself into the golden annals of the country's performing arts as principal conductor of the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra (now Hungarian National Philharmonic) in the period following the tenure of János Ferencsik. The Hungarian public still vividly remembers his enthusiastic,
emotionally rich interpretations, and the unaffected spirit and sense of immediacy embodied in his musicianship. His performances of Beethoven symphonies stood out as they were always performed with unrivalled fire, intensity and lyricism.
This recording was made at a concert held at Müpa Budapest on 29 April 2016.
The performance will be broadcasted on our webpage, Facebook and Youtube channels.
