With the start of another year upon us, it will once again be time for us to encounter the great Viennese Classical master's musical setting of the Genesis story - an agreeable and dependable part of our lives that is always good to return to. As we follow the process of the six days of creation, we ourselves can also all resolve to live the new year ahead of us in a spirit of creativity. The production's conductor - one of the greatest of our time - will, as always, bear out his dialectic between permanence and change in his concept: the work is eternal, but each hearing brings new features to notice.

Ádám Fischer has been working productively with the Danish Chamber for a quarter of a century now, helping them develop an intense and evocative performance style. Their recent recording of Beethoven's complete symphonies received an International Classical Music Award. The jury's assessment from that occasion can also be considered valid for how they play Haydn: 'The main characteristic of their interpretation is found in the emphasis on the rhetorical diversity showing all of the music's various facets. This eloquence is achieved with consistently slender, low-vibrato music-making and a wide range of tempi, rhythm and dynamics. Exciting contrasts, powerful accents, and expressive rubato let the music 'speak' in a most persuasive way.' With their extensive training and qualities as performers, the three outstanding soloists featured in the production - Fatma Said, David Fischer and Miklós Sebestyén - guarantee both world-class interpretation and an exciting international feel to the performance.
