Müpa Budapest Nonprofit Kft, Müpa+ Membership Programme – General Terms and Conditions of Participation

Introduction

  • Participation in the Müpa+ Membership Programme (Membership Programme) is free of charge, but registration is required. You can enter the programme online or in person.
  • Only natural persons over the age of 18 can participate in the Membership Programme.
  • Members (hereinafter referred to as Participants) are entitled to use a Müpa+ membership card, which they must present when making personal purchases and when claiming discounts and attending programmes. (The card with a code number is used to identify the Participant, is non-transferable and is valid until the end of participation in the Membership Programme.)
  • For participants in the Membership Programme, the Müpa+ Membership Card is for personal use. Thus, multiple cards may be issued to members of the same family with the same postal address, but each card will participate in the Membership Programme separately and points earned on separate cards cannot be combined.
  • The Müpa+ Loyalty Card is not a separate payment instrument under any circumstances.

1. Accepting the General Terms and Conditions of participation

By entering the Programme, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of the Müpa+ Membership Programme as set out in this notice. These terms and conditions are available at the Müpa Budapest Information Desk, at the Müpa Budapest ticket offices and at www.mupa.hu (under the Membership Programme menu item).
By joining the Membership Programme, you also give your consent to Müpa Budapest to process your personal data in the manner detailed in the Privacy Notice in connection with participation in the Membership Programme. The Privacy Policy is available at the Müpa Budapest Information Desk, at the Müpa Budapest ticket offices and at www.mupa.hu (by clicking on Privacy Policy).

2. Subject

In accordance with these General Terms and Conditions, the Membership Programme aims to give Participants preferential access to Müpa Budapest’s services, discounts and exclusive services.

3. Basics of the Müpa+ Membership Programme

3.1 Joining the Müpa+ Membership Programme

When joining the Membership Programme, you are required to provide the following information and consent:

  • full name (first name, surname), year of birth, gender, postal address, email address, telephone number and preferred genres.
  • accept the Privacy Notice and the General Terms and Conditions of the Müpa+ Membership Programme and subscribe to the newsletter.

Participants can join the Müpa+ Membership Programme in the following ways:

  • You can join in person at the information desk of Müpa Budapest and at all ticket offices of Müpa Budapest by filling in the form available there. The final and personalised Müpa+ Membership Card will be given to you at the end of the registration process. The Müpa+ Membership Card is valid from the time of joining the Membership Programme.
  • Participants who have registered in person by filling in a registration form will receive an email notification of successful registration and can then create a password to access the website.
  • You can join by filling in the electronic form available at www.mupa.hu under the Membership Programme menu. You will then receive an email message to confirm that you have successfully connected to the website, after which they can access Müpa+ services online. Participants registering online can access the Membership Programme by going to the Membership Programme menu on their personal sub-page on the website and review the information about the Membership Programme. The Müpa+ membership card of the Participant who has joined the programme online (which is also required for admission to programmes and for the personal validation of purchase discounts) can be collected at the Müpa ticket offices or information desks by providing the personal identification data recorded at the time of registration.

Communication related to the Müpa+ Membership Programme
By joining the Müpa+ Membership Programme, you agree to receive regular email notifications (newsletters) on the operation of Müpa Budapest and the Müpa+ Membership Programme, its services, current discounts and events organised for participants. You also acknowledge that by blocking or not opening the information messages, you may lose access to the Membership Programme’s discount offers and information about the Membership Programme’s free events. Müpa Budapest expressly excludes liability for any loss or damage arising from the above.
As newsletter subscription is an indispensable condition for joining the Müpa+ Membership Programme, unsubscribing from the newsletter entails withdrawal from the Membership Programme and the permanent cancellation of the Participant’s membership level, membership points and discounts. 

3.2 Müpa Budapest’s rights in the event of non-compliance with the terms and conditions of the Müpa+ Membership Programme
Participants assume responsibility for the accuracy of the data they provide, and are independently responsible for the consequences of incorrect, incomplete and outdated data. Incomplete, illegible or crossed-out data will not be taken into account in the Membership Programme.
Müpa Budapest reserves the right to verify compliance with these General Terms and Conditions of Participation of the Müpa+ Membership Programme. In the event of non-compliance with the terms and conditions, Müpa Budapest reserves the right to suspend or cancel any current or ongoing benefits to which the Participant is entitled, or to deactivate the Participant’s Müpa+ Membership Card and permanently terminate the Participant’s Membership Programme membership.

3.3 Leaving the Müpa+ Membership Programme 
You can unsubscribe online by clicking on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the end of each newsletter or by logging into your personal account on the website and clicking on ‘Unsubscribe’ under the Membership Program menu. You will have 48 hours to consider and possibly cancel your decision to withdraw, and you will be notified of this by email. On the day after the expiry of the above period, your membership of the Müpa+ Membership Programme will be terminated. You will continue to have access to the Müpa Budapest website as you will keep your website registration. You can delete your account by clicking on “Delete user account” in the Settings menu.
You can withdraw from the Membership Programme in person by filling in the form at the Müpa Budapest ticket office or information desk. You can also request withdrawal by sending a written statement to info@mupa.hu.

4. How to earn loyalty points

4.1 Calculating and collecting points
Crediting of points accumulated by Participants during their purchases:
To accrue membership points for personal purchases, the cardholder must present the card at the ticket office on each occasion.

If the card is left at home, the membership points for the purchase can be credited at the checkout upon the Participant’s request after verification of the natural identification data (name, email, address, phone).
The sum total of purchases made before joining the Membership Programme will not be taken into account.

Membership points will not be credited for purchases made without presenting the Müpa+ Membership Card or without the Participant’s personal identification.
Purchases made on the website without logging in, i.e. as a non-Müpa+ Membership Programme member, cannot be credited with points.

Membership points can be registered at Müpa Budapest’s own (permanent and temporary) ticket offices or on the www.mupa.hu website. Loyalty points will only be awarded for Müpa Budapest’s own productions and for the programmes of the Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks and the Liszt Fest International Cultural Festival, regardless of the venue.

Points are collected as follows:

  • For every purchase of up to 8 tickets or season tickets per performance, 1 membership point will be credited for every HUF 100 of payment amount. Information about membership points issued per performance can be found on the website under the ‘Buy Tickets’ button.
  • For family and youth programmes, 2 membership points will be credited for every HUF 100 of payment amount.
  • Two (2) membership points are awarded for every HUF 100 of payment (double point offers) under the Membership Programme for the performances pre-selected and listed in the Membership Programme menu on the website.
  • Membership points may be earned on the basis of ad hoc offers, subject to the specific conditions set out in the offer, and/or in an increased number.
  • In the case of Müpa gift vouchers, 1 membership point is also credited for every HUF 100 of the total purchase amount.
  • If the person receiving the gift is also a Müpa+ Membership Programme member (and is not the same as the Participant), 1 loyalty point will also be credited to their Müpa+ Loyalty Card for every HUF 100 of the purchase amount for tickets or season tickets purchased with the gift voucher.

The points collected by the Participant have no commercial value, and are not transferable or inheritable. Points and Loyalty Programme services cannot be purchased directly for money.

4.2 Crediting and displaying points
The points collected will be credited to your account immediately after the purchase, but within 3 working days at the latest.

For tickets purchased online, you will see the points for the purchased performances in the shopping cart, which will be credited after the transaction is completed.

You will receive an email notification of the points earned for both in-person and online purchases, including the current balance of points.

You will be notified by email within 24 hours of reaching a new level resulting from the accumulation of membership points. The ticket price discount provided by the newly reached level can be applied to transactions after the notification is received. The services applicable to the new level will also be available after this notification.

4.3 Validity of points
Each membership point is valid until the amount of points needed to reach the next level is redeemed to enter the next level. Membership points not used to enter a new level will remain valid until their use for entering the higher level.

Membership points will be automatically cancelled and will lose their validity together with the current loyalty level only if you exit the Membership Programme.

5. Services related to joining the Müpa+ Membership Programme

5.1 Rules for using points earned under the Müpa+ Membership Programme; validity of loyalty levels
By joining the Membership Programme, you will be placed at the basic level. You will remain at this level without any time limit until you either accumulate the 500 points required for the Silver Level, or you decide to withdraw from the Membership Programme, or your membership is terminated by Müpa Budapest for breach of these General Terms and Conditions of Participation.

The points accumulated entitle you to silver, gold and platinum levels and the corresponding discounts and service packages. The services and benefits of each level achieved are provided for 380 days (=365+15 gift days) from the date of acquisition. If you move to a next level within a shorter period of time, based on the points accumulated, the services at the new level will be valid for 380 days from the date of acquisition.

When a level reaches the point limit, the membership points needed to reach it are automatically redeemed and the collection of points needed to reach the next level will start again. (Membership points above the amount of points required to reach a given level will still be available.) 

If you accumulate the number of points required to reach the next level within the guaranteed 380 days for a given level, only the difference in points between the two levels will be redeemed.

When you have spent 380 days at a certain discount level without moving on, on the last day you will be moved to the highest available loyalty level for the next 380 days based on your available loyalty points. The point value of this level will be redeemed from the points you have collected.

Loyalty points may be used for other purposes based on ad hoc offers, subject to the conditions set out in the offer.


5.2 By joining the Müpa+ Membership Programme, you will benefit from the following:

  • 10% discount on purchases at Vince Bookshop
  • 10% discount on restaurant services at P’Art Café and Bistro, for up to 4 persons
  • 7% discount in the Rózsavölgyi CD Shop 
  • 7% discount on purchases at Ethnosound Music Shop
  • viewing audio and video recordings available on the website
  • regular newsletters on updates on the Membership Programme and Müpa Budapest
  • overview of points, tickets, data on your personal subpage on the website
  • Hall to Hall – guided tour of Müpa Budapest, free of charge, once a year
  • ad hoc offers linked to a given loyalty level

Silver level: from 500 points

  • 5% discount on ticket purchases
  • advance booking of season tickets
  • advance booking of tickets for the next season (except Met tickets)
  • distribution of programme guides by post (on demand)
  • Our Colours – Müpa Budapest snapshots for Müpa+ Membership Programme members
  • Organ Expedition Extra – discover the Müpa Budapest organ, free of charge, once a year
  • ad hoc offers linked to the given membership level

Gold level: from 1500 points

  • 10% discount on ticket purchases
  • pre-sale for Metropolitan broadcasts
  • occasional ticket pre-sales for special performances
  • waiting list for sold-out concerts
  • guided tour of the Ludwig Museum
  • Organ Expedition Extra
  • ad hoc offers linked to the given membership level

Platinum level: from 3500 points

  • 15% discount on ticket purchases
  • parking in Platinum parking spaces on level –1 of the underground car park (limited number of spaces with registration) during ticketed performances and Müpa+ events
  • ad hoc dress rehearsal visits
  • ad hoc invitations to private events
  • your name as a platinum-level member of the Müpa+ Membership Programme included in the annual publication (on request)
  • Behind the Scenes
  • ad hoc offers linked to the given loyalty level

Each higher level includes the named services of the previous levels. Percentage discounts on ticket purchases for each level cannot be combined.
Ticket discounts for each level are valid for 4 tickets per performance only for tickets purchased at Müpa Budapest’s box offices or at www.mupa.hu for Müpa Budapest’s own productions and for tickets to the programmes of the Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks and the Liszt Fest International Cultural Festival.

Percentage discounts for each level are not available for season tickets or Müpa Budapest gift vouchers.
Up to two people can participate in the special programmes for each level, depending on the type of programme.
Discounts cannot be combined with each other or with other discounts at Müpa Budapest.

5.3 To use the following services for each level of the Müpa+ Membership Programme, you must register in advance on the website:

  • all programmes organised for the Participants
  • Platinum parking spaces in the underground car park
  • waiting list for cancelled tickets for sold-out concerts
  • sending publications by post
  • appearance as a platinum participant in the Müpa Budapest annual publication

6. Obligations

6.1 Obligations of the Participant
The Müpa+ Membership Card is personal and non-transferable. The Participant is solely responsible for their own Müpa+ Membership Card and undertakes to use it in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The Participant is solely responsible for the use of their card and electronic profile.

The Participant undertakes, inter alia, but not exclusively, to

  • have only one Müpa+ Loyalty Card assigned to them
  • guarantee to Müpa Budapest the accuracy of the information provided when joining the Membership Programme
  • ensure that the data communicated to Müpa Budapest, which allows Müpa Budapest to contact the Participant (postal address, email, etc.), are secure and that the Participant has full control over them and does not allow their use to be transferred to anyone else
  • immediately inform Müpa Budapest of any unauthorised use of their personal user account, or any breach of the security and confidentiality of their identification data, as described in Section 7.1.

Müpa Budapest expressly excludes any liability for the unauthorised use by third parties of the benefits obtained by the Participants under the Membership Programme through the use of a card obtained without authorisation or through contact details obtained by an unauthorised third party or otherwise.

The Participant acknowledges that the wrongful use of the Müpa+ Membership Card or the Membership Programme services may result in, based on the assessment of Müpa Budapest:

  • the Participant’s removal from the Membership Programme
  • cancellation or suspension of the Membership Programme


6.2 Rights and obligations of Müpa Budapest
Müpa Budapest undertakes to treat personal data that it becomes aware of in connection with the Membership Programme in accordance with its current Privacy Notice (www.mupa.hu/en/privacy-policy).

Müpa Budapest undertakes to do its utmost to provide the Participant, in a timely manner, with all information necessary to enjoy the benefits and services to which the Participant is entitled under the Membership Programme.

By joining the Müpa+ Membership Programme, the Participant accepts the technical limitations resulting from the use of the Internet and other networks (e.g. telephone) (response time of the server managing the Membership Programme, connection interruption risks and, in general, all risks related to data transmission).

Müpa Budapest expressly excludes its liability, in particular, in the cases listed below:

  • a network malfunction that prevents the website from working properly,
  • loss of any data,
  • malfunction of any software,
  • the consequences of any computer virus, malfunction or failure.

7. Notification obligations

7.1 Changes to personal data:
Any change in full name (first and last name), postal address, email address, telephone number or any other information must be communicated as soon as possible:

  • at the Müpa Budapest Information Desk or in person at the Müpa Budapest ticket offices
  • via the Participant’s personal page at www.mupa.hu
  • in an email sent to info@mupa.hu

The email address you have provided is the most authentic channel of communication and can only be changed by sending a request to info@mupa.hu.

Müpa Budapest points out that the Participant is responsible for the accuracy of all information provided by them and is solely liable for any damages resulting from the provision of incorrect, incomplete or outdated information.

7.2 What to do if your Müpa+ Membership Card is lost and/or stolen:
In the event of loss and/or theft of the Müpa+ Membership Card, you should notify Müpa Budapest as soon as possible. In the event of loss and/or theft of a card, if you personally identify yourself based on the data provided at the time of registration, the old card number will be cancelled and a new card with a new card number will be issued to replace it.

You will retain all previously earned points and other benefits.

8. Misleading use or misuse of the Müpa+ Membership Card

Breach of these General Terms and Conditions and misuse of the Card by the cardholder or any third party in connection with participation in the Membership Programme will result in the revocation of the Card and termination of the Membership Programme membership.
Membership points earned through the breach of these General Terms and Conditions, by unauthorised participation or by misuse will be cancelled.

9. Modifying or cancelling the Müpa+ Membership Programme

Müpa Budapest is entitled to modify or cancel the Membership Programme scheme and the Terms and Conditions of Participation at any time without having to justify its decision or pay compensation for any damage caused.
Müpa Budapest has the right to change the conditions for the award of points without having to justify its decision or pay compensation for the damage caused.
These General Terms and Conditions of Participation may be amended by Müpa Budapest at any time without prior notice to the Participants, which the Participants accept by continuing to participate in the Membership Programme. The General Terms and Conditions of Participation currently in force can be found in the Membership Programme section of www.mupa.hu.

10. Completeness

If one or more provisions of the General Terms and Conditions of Participation are null and void or ineffective due to the application of a law, regulation or a final decision of a competent court, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and in force. Müpa Budapest will use its best endeavours to replace such provision as soon as possible with another valid and effective provision that is as close as possible to the spirit of these General Terms and Conditions.
The fact that a Party has not requested the permanent or temporary application of any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not in any way constitute a waiver of that provision.

11. Applicable law / Disputes

The interpretation and application of these General Terms and Conditions of Participation shall be governed exclusively by Hungarian law.
