Müpa begins new year with returning global stars

Our audience will welcome back several old acquaintances to the Müpa Budapest stage in 2023.

Mariza will return after five years with material from her new album, while Goran Bregović, known for his memorable film scores, will bring a symphonic arrangement to his latest melodies in collaboration with the Budafok Dohnanyi Orchestra. Celebrated as the most versatile artist on the domestic jazz scene, Attila László will relive the most important stages of his career to mark his 70th birthday.

Zoltán Beck and Krisztián Grecsó will be introducing their first joint record. László Kollár-Klemencz and his chamber orchestra recently completed its fifth album, which the Müpa Budapest audience will be able to hear performed live for the first time.

Each year, the Jazz Showcase unveils the most significant jazz talent, who on this occasion will once again be joined by concerts by outstanding groups on the jazz scene: Performances by Lőrinc BarabásKrisztián Csapó, as KRIZ, and the jazzbois will crown each day of the concert series.

Extending from dance house to world music, A Celebration of Folk Music presents a varied palette of genres where the day-long cavalcade of colourful programmes will reach a crescendo with a fabulous gala event.

Müpa’s literary series will also continue with Edina SzvorenLászló Nagy and István Örkény. The Müpa Film Club will take us on a journey through the world of the director Fellini, and we will also have the opportunity to witness the country’s leading dance ensembles, as well as the most popular contemporary circus productions of Recirquel.
