The band Pál Utcai Fiúk has once again dreamed up something new for this evening's concert. In addition to their permanent guest musicians (Krisztián 'Qka' Szűcs on wind instruments and Ákos Dióssy on keyboards), Zoli Albert (winds) and the Color Quartet (strings) will also join in the sonic metamorphosis. All this will be topped off by a guest musician with whom the group has not yet had to chance to collaborate: János Bródy. The band will summarise, reinterpret and celebrate the songs from their more than 35-year career, and they'll also play a few numbers from their upcoming album.
Pál Utcai Fiúk went from being a garage band in Szigetszentmiklós to a nationally recognised act. The group, which started as a gang of street kids that chose their instruments by flipping a coin, released their first album in 1990, and the albums kept coming until 1994: Ha jön az álom, Bál, A nagy rohanás, Szerelemharc, and Szajhák és partizánok. After changing some members, the band left the big stage and returned to playing clubs in the second half of the '90s. After additional member changes that brought new creative energy, their album Ha jön az élet was released in 2000. In 2008, they used their fresh energy and momentum to open a new chapter in their history with the release of their Legelő LP. The lively, energetic but often lyrical songs once again cemented the group's place among the greats. The band is now performing regularly and working on a new album which, to the delight of their fans, will be released in 2019.
