Ian O'Sullivan, best known as the frontman of the popular band Mongooz and the Magnet, unleashed his solo career in 2020, but the idea was long in the mind of the Irish singer-songwriter, who lives in Hungary. An unexpected turn of events in his personal life inspired him to share his intimate songs exploring personal themes with the world. Since then, he has written many new songs, some of them in Hungarian, all of them with folk roots, but also with a solid electronic music vibe.

Ian O'Sullivan moved to Pécs in the early 2010s, where he became a student at the Medical School. Meanwhile, he enjoyed growing success with the aforementioned band, sharing the vocals with another foreign student, Norwegian Magnus Måløy. A few song snippets he had in his mind would not leave him alone, and he felt they were so personal that he eventually launched a solo career as O'Sullivan. A twist in his personal life led him to realise that he shouldn't wait any longer, so he embarked on the project. The debut song Little Bird - which, in addition to showing classic songwriter-performer virtues, attracts attention with its finely weaved electropop accompaniment - has since been followed by several others, including the Hungarian version of the opening track, the lyrics of which he wrote together with his musician friend from Pécs, Zoli Beck of the band 30Y. He also sings and plays several Hungarian-language songs and arrangements live, with which he is able to appeal to his audience even more. His recent compositions and concerts also show that O'Sullivan is also worth listening to as a solo artist.
