As well as 47 books and 35 translated works, János Lackfi can also boast six children and three grandchildren. The Attila József, Tibor Déry, Gyula Illyés and Prima Primissima-prize winning author and poet has also written lyrics for songs sung by Kaláka, András Lovasi and Andrea Malek, among others. His works have been translated into 15 languages. In addition to countless successful children's books, his biggest hit in recent years was the book Milyenek a magyarok? (published in English as Homo Hungaricus) which has seen 37,000 copies published. The sequel, Milyenek MÉG a magyarok?, then Három a magyar igazság and the final book in the series, Egy a ráadás, proved to be almost as popular as the first.
János Lackfi has said that today's poetry is more colourful than fireworks. With a little bit of music thrown in, it offers the spiciest of 'culinary experiences', where one is likely to lick all ten fingers afterwards. He has also said that literature is the wildest of travel agents: it takes you across a thousand years and a thousand miles before in the end you land in your own life, extending down to the earth and up to heaven. Life moves everything. On one street corner they are knifing each other, on another they caress, on a third they are pushing wheelchairs, on a fourth a pram, one person is trudging home with their grandmother's ashes, another is singing, a little tipsily, 'don't worry, be happy.' Life is a lot like jazz. Everything changes. Jazz is a lot like a city. Constantly on the move. Life is a lot like a city where jazz is playing. János Lackfi is in love with jazz and in love with life. His words are his instruments.

Audience members, who will be able to take their seats in the Bohemian Event Venue on a first-come, first-served basis from 6 pm, receive a welcome drink and can enjoy dinner before or after the concert.
