Ephemere is a very recent formation and has been working as a band since 2020. Basically, it is made up of the duo of Izabella Caussanel and Lilla Orbay, who have already shown the diversity of their songs with many contributors and various line-ups. They create a fusion world that spices up jazz with folk music elements, and sometimes incorporates more popular impulses, in which the main role is, of course, played by the lighthearted interaction of the two voices. Folk-jazz with songs in Hungarian, French and English, producing moments that stay with us for a long time.

Izabella Caussanel and Lilla Orbay started working together when they met as jazz singers at the conservatory. Izabella Caussanel is half French, half Hungarian (her mother is folk singer Katalin Gyenis, also known for her performances with the Vujicsics Ensemble and the Téka Ensemble). She has been living in Hungary since 2017 and is a member of the band Ötödik évszak, which plays acoustic urban music with folk instrumentation, combining Hungarian folk and French chanson influences. Lilla Orbay has already made a name for herself in jazz circles with the Orbay Lilla Group. She is an exceptional talent who is also a remarkable bandleader. The two then met at the jazz department, inspired each other and came up with new ideas, which found their way into the Ephemere formation. The ensemble typically starts from fine-grained jazz, with elements of folk music, and even evokes the distinctive pop music of the Ibeyi brothers. In addition to playing chansons and jazz standards, they have set the poetry of Endre Ady to music. There is still a lot of potential in the band, so it is to be hoped that it will be ephemeral only in its name. It can never be doubted for a moment that their performances offer a great experience.
