One night, two exceptional Israeli artists: double bass virtuoso and singer Adam Ben Ezra performs in Hungary for the first time, while singer and multi-instrumentalist Zohar Fresco has been here before with the Możdżer-Danielsson-Fresco Trio. This time, he's performing with his own band.

Born in Tel Aviv in 1982, Adam Ben Ezra is largely self-taught on the violin, guitar, piano, clarinet and flute. His true love, however, is the double bass. He uses it percussively and also enhances the sound with various effects. He's a true YouTube sensation with Can't Stop Running from his debut album of the same name attracting more than three million views. During his solo performance, he'll also be playing piano and we will hear his own compositions peppered throughout with covers of the Beatles, David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Lorde.
Zohar Fresco was born in Israel in 1969 into a Jewish family with deep Turkish roots as descendants of Tamburi Izhak Fresco, a well-known lute player and Jewish-Turkish composer who lived in 18th-19th centuries. Besides Zohar's instrument of choice, the frame drum, he has also mastered rare Middle-Eastern instruments and Persian, Indian and Egyptian techniques. In addition to achieving success as a trio with Swedish double bassist Lars Danielsson and Polish pianist Leszek Możdżer, he has played with Philip Glass, Mexican-American percussionist Glen Velez and Indian tabla player Zakir Hussain. His band members on the qanun and darbuka reinforce the band's authentic Middle-Eastern sound.

Prior to the concert, from 6 pm, Zohar Fresco will hold a 90-minute drumming workshop in the Glass Hall, for which the purchase of a separate ticket is required.
