Quatuor van Kuijk

"Style, energy and a sense of risk - these four young Frenchmen made the music smile.” This is how the music critic from the prestigious British daily The Guardian described this ensemble's playing in 2015, after the then three-year-old Parisian quartet won the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition in London.
Their website shows what a rich repertoire they have mastered over the course of half a decade: in addition to core works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann and Brahms, plenty of 20th and 21st century output also appears on the list. Hungarian music aficionados will be delighted to see György Kurtág also being represented by a work. There will also be no lack of contemporary music at their Budapest concert, which will feature a new opus composed by their French compatriot Édith Canat de Chizy.
Nominated for the Rising Stars programme by: Cité de la musique - Philharmonie de Paris & Festspielhaus Baden-Baden
In Festival Square after the concert, visitors will be able to participate in a meet and greet moderated by Endre Tóth, where they can chat with the artists appearing in the concert and request autographs.
