The Behind the Scenes concerts provide a glimpse into the everyday work of musicians and the process of making music. In the second half of the concerts, the audience will get to see and hear excerpts from the works they have already been introduced to in the form of an uninterrupted performance.
'Given the extent of his robbing and looting, it is clear that Jóska Sobri was pre-ordained by God to be a bandit. Yet it was only in his later life that Sobri became a black sheep; he wasn't always on the wrong side of the law. His career began as a youth when he stole a pig. He only did it as a bit of a prank, but was swiftly apprehended by the powers that be. He spent two nights in a cell, where - according to tradition - he managed to escape prior to his release date with the assistance of the female prison guard, who became his lover. From this point, there was no stopping him: in just a few short years, Jóska Sobri ensured that the Hungarian nobility and wealthier citizens throughout Transdanubia would fear his name.” (An excerpt from an essay by Nikolett Dömötör)
The famous bandit from Bakony, Jóska Sobri, is associated with countless notorious crimes and great escapes, as well as the humbling of noblemen and seduction of well-to-do ladies. A few of his stories will be brought to life through the mediums of storytelling and dance by the Wild Roses Folk Dance Ensemble.

Between 9.45 and 10.30, we will be running a free (and playful) interactive session for children entitled Tune-Up. We look forward to welcoming groups and individuals who hold tickets to the subsequent performance. Register by sending an e-mail to csip@mupa.hu, stating the number of participants and their ages, by the Wednesday before the performance at the latest. The activity is recommended for children aged 6 and over, and will take place with a minimum of six children.
