Have you ever been part of a living xylophone? Finally, now's your chance! During this concert, you will be given simple, colourful plastic pipes that display the creative elements of that versatile and surprising instrument. We are talking about none other than the Boomwhackers, otherwise known as percussion tubes. By the end of this special interactive session, the audience are able to form a real life band. With the help of their 'conductor', the newly anointed musicians will join together to play some familiar and new songs. Because sometimes the hardest things are the most entertaining.

Why didn't I think of it first? Many people must have asked themselves this question when the American Craig Ramsell invented the Boomwhacker in 1995, with several million manufactured in the intervening years. The way they work is very simple: every pipe is tuned to a certain sound that is heard when you hit the right spot. The bright colours help you to know when to play, and everyone can always see what sound is coming next. It's not surprising that today you can encounter these instruments on company team building events as well as in schools and kindergartens, as they help you to develop and build confidence in your musical knowledge. Quality entertainment is guaranteed: you are given a pipe that enables you to play everything from simple rhythms to ‘re-orchestrated' covers of famous hits. The secret to its success lies in the fact that your attention is directed to the other people in the group. If everyone plays their own instrument at the right time and at the right rhythm, then the melody will come together. The host will be the director of Ethnosound, Károly Fehér, who is one of the finest proponents in Hungary of interactive and entertaining music activities.

The event will be followed by a free activity session on Banner Square entitled Reverberation for groups holding tickets to the performance.
