In the middle of a dense forest, a wicked witch keeps three beautiful fairy girls locked up in an oak tree. The minutes and years slowly tick by, but naturally the heroic prince is already on his way to break the curse and, not incidentally, find the love of his life. But there's no need to be too concerned about the villainous old lady's welfare either: she is going to do everything in her power to stand in the lovers' way. A story built from classical elements, told and shown in a way you've never seen before: a two-person, folk music puppet show by the Fabók Mancsi Puppet Theatre.

It's no exaggeration in the least to say that every single performance of the Fabók Mancsi Puppet Theatre is a unique attraction, and not just for connoisseurs and lovers of folk culture: with their amazing professional skill, personal authenticity and ability to bring tradition to life, not to mention lots and lots of laughter, they are certain to win over everyone, regardless of age or interests. Mariann Fabók's innovative travelling theatre invents new forms, but in a way that also preserves classical folk traditions and shows them in a new light. Mostly based on Hungarian folklore or classic fairy tales, the productions evoke for contemporary viewers the world of traditional storytellers and minstrels. The invariably virtuosic performances are consciously designed to appeal to adults along with the little ones sitting in the rows of the auditorium. In 2017, The Fairy of the Three-Branched Oak Tree won the grand prize at the Ninth Children's and Youth Theatre Festival, and it has been playing to packed houses ever since, often for repeat viewers. The show has lost none of its freshness, thanks to the masterful and extraordinary duo of Mariann Fabók and Árpád Keresztes Nagy, who will stop at nothing to put the audience in a good mood and have them cheering loudly.
