They'll get both a look into the secrets of musical drama and an opportunity to take part in the group rehearsal together with the participating superb opera singers as they succumb to the magical grip of a work for the stage. The afternoon will focus both on the music and the power of the theatre, with the musical orientation led by Dániel Dinyés and the carefree action on stage guaranteed by Pál Göttinger. Mozart's The Magic Flute and The Abduction from the Seraglio and Donizetti's Don Pasquale are all operas with exciting subjects for acting, with matters of the heart combining with conflicts of the human conscience to cause all manner of confusion.
The Budapest Strings chamber orchestra launched the Opera Playhouse as a subscription series this year. The express intention of the initiative is to entice young people to listen to classical music. Those who have not yet had the chance to get to know the opera or who have had no contact with the genre will now be able to approach it in a flexible, easy and playful format. This programme offers a splendid opportunity primarily for children aged 8-12, but anyone who likes fairy tale-type stories and acting is warmly welcome.
