Dance drama in two acts, based on Truman Capote's work of the same title.

A young woman emerges from a taxi early one morning and stops at the window display of the Tiffany's jewellery shop to eat her breakfast. Nobody knows where she is from. After eating her croissant and drinking her coffee, she walks back to her home in a tenement building and lies down to sleep. She wakes up to the sound of the doorbell. A handsome young man arrives, a scruffy writer. Her new neighbour...
Ever since it was founded, the Miskolc Ballet has placed great emphasis on adapting literary and cinematic works that are familiar to the audience for the dance stage. One such effort is this dance-theatre production of Truman Capote's novella Breakfast at Tiffany's. The work's success was defined by the film directed by Blake Edwards and starring Audrey Hepburn. Capote's novella is not identical to the familiar Hollywood film: while the film is a sugary cavalcade of assorted truths and formulaic delights that either bypass or only superficially affect the story of the encounter between a defenceless little girl hiding behind the mask of an uninhibited woman and a penniless writer, the tale comes across significantly more colourfully and realistically in Capote's novella. It is a portrait of an era that presents situations and characters from real life and takes a more thorough approach to America's social problems. We glimpse dreams that are merely mirages, and they disperse in the mirror of sobering realities.
