Following the path of dance filmmaking established by the tireless researcher of folk art György Martin, we pay tribute to the unrepeatable work of this outstanding academic by introducing the dance culture of Szatmár and Kalotaszeg. He and his colleagues coordinated major collections of dances in Hungary and Transylvania, which had a major impact not only on research into Hungarian dance, but also into dance throughout Europe. It is now up to us to offer a theatrical experience worthy of this old, wonderful, and, in many cases, forgotten, culture. (Zoltán Zsuráfszky)
