Dance Me is a unique creative work inspired by the rich oeuvre of Montreal-based poet, songwriter and performer Leonard Cohen. Under the artistic direction of Louis Robitaille and the bold and penetrating dramaturgy of Eric Jean, the work, approved by Cohen himself, is a kind of tribute: in five parts, it evokes the great cycle of life as described in the great Canadian artist's music and verse. Commissioned to convert Cohen's legendary songs into movement were three internationally recognised choreographers: Andonis Foniadakis, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Ihsan Rustem. Their choreography reflects Cohen's work with powerful and profound emotional expressiveness and is being brought to life by the BJM's 14 performance artists. The creative team's work has resulted in the Dance Me production, combining theatrical, visual, musical, dramaturgical and choreographic elements to pay homage to Montreal's most famous musical ambassador. Taken together, the dancing, music, lighting, scenography and video design will make this production an unforgettable one.

The BJM would like to thank Ms. Marjorie Bronfman for her vital support in creating this production. The Dance Me production is sponsored by CCOV - Centre de Création O Vertigo.
